# Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9-inch round baking dish.
02 - In a large bowl, gently mix diced pears, cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, vanilla extract, and cornstarch until fruit is evenly coated.
03 - Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared dish and bake for 20 minutes until fruit softens and releases juices. Remove from oven.
04 - While fruit bakes, beat egg whites with cream of tartar and salt on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating on high until stiff, glossy peaks develop.
05 - Spoon or pipe meringue over hot fruit, creating decorative peaks resembling a snow-covered landscape.
06 - Return dish to oven and bake an additional 15 minutes until meringue is lightly golden.
07 - Allow to cool slightly and serve warm or at room temperature.
