# Components:
→ Chocolate Layers
01 - 7 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
02 - 7 oz high-quality white chocolate, chopped
→ Peppermint Topping
03 - 6 peppermint candy canes or hard peppermint candies, crushed (about 1/2 cup)
→ Optional
04 - 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
# Directions:
01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or arrange 12 silicone snowflake molds.
02 - Melt the semi-sweet or dark chocolate in 30-second microwave intervals, stirring between each, until smooth, or use a double boiler.
03 - If desired, stir 1/4 tsp peppermint extract into the melted dark chocolate.
04 - Pour the melted dark chocolate into molds or spread evenly on the baking sheet to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Tap gently to level.
05 - Refrigerate for 15 minutes or until firm.
06 - Using a clean bowl, melt the white chocolate with the same method, stirring until smooth.
07 - Stir 1/4 tsp peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate, if using.
08 - Pour the melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate, spreading evenly with an offset spatula.
09 - Immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint candies over the white chocolate and press lightly to adhere.
10 - Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until fully set.
11 - Remove from molds or break into snowflake pieces and store in an airtight container in a cool place.
