Instructions
- Step 1:
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

- Add the egg and vanilla extract's mix well.
- Step 3:
- Sift in the flour and salt, then stir until a soft dough forms.
- Step 4:
- Shape the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.

- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 6:
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 0.5 cm (1/4 inch) thickness.
- Step 7:
- Use a boot-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Step 8:
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Step 9:
- For the icing, mix powdered sugar with milk to form a thick, spreadable glaze. Divide and tint with food coloring as desired.
- Step 10:
- Decorate the cooled cookies with colored icing and sprinkles. Allow icing to set before serving.
