Ingredients
- Chicken breasts: 4 boneless, skinless (about 1.5 lbs / 700 g)
- Garlic: 3 cloves minced
- Onion: 1 small finely chopped (optional)
- Frozen peas: 1 cup (150 g) optional
- Fresh mushrooms: 2 cups (250 g) sliced (optional)
- Heavy cream: 2 cups (480 ml)
- Chicken broth: 1 cup (240 ml) low sodium
- Parmesan cheese: 1 cup (100 g) freshly grated
- Cream cheese: 4 oz (115 g) cubed and softened
- Unsalted butter: 2 tbsp cubed
- Salt: 1 tsp
- Black pepper: ½ tsp
- Dried Italian herbs: 1 tsp (or a mix of basil oregano thyme)
- Crushed red pepper flakes: ¼ tsp (optional)
- Pasta: 12 oz (340 g) fettuccine or linguine cooked according to package instructions
Instructions
- Step 1:
- Arrange chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Step 2:
- Scatter minced garlic and chopped onion (if using) over the chicken.
- Step 3:
- Add mushrooms and peas if desired.
- Step 4:
